Finding our photographer was a high priority soon after we were engaged. Ironically — and perhaps fortunately — I wasn't yet aware of the wide world of wedding and photography blogs when we began our search. (I can't imagine how overwhelmed I would have been!) At the time, I relied on two resources: the local message boards on The

The dinner game hijinks were a hoot and we were still on a high from them when someone motioned to us that it was time for cake. Yippee! We both LOVE cake! If you will remember, when we met with the wedding coordinator upon our arrival at the resort, I was well prepared and not only handed her these two photos, but also some purple ribbon as well,

Being a May bride, my original floral plan was to go with white peony centerpieces. I reasoned that they were the perfect choice, considering that they are large blooms and are (usually) in season on our date, making them not only beautiful, but economical. image source This ultra simple and beautiful arrangement has been my main inspiration

After hours of brainstorming, collecting inspiration pictures, playing around in Adobe Photoshop Elements, hunting down iStock images and Photoshop brushes, testing papers, experimenting with different fonts and colors, shopping for envelopes online, second guessing myself, designing, printing, spending a lot (and I mean a whole lot) of quality

I've been meaning to show you some pictures of the jewelry I picked out to wear on the wedding day. I wanted a bigger bracelet, but nothing too trendy. I picked out a few cuffs, but decided those would fall more in the trendy category. I think this bracelet from Macy's is perfect, and it's definitely something I'll wear again. Since the stones

Dress hunting, for me, was rather challenging. Santa Fe has a limited selection of bridal stores (basically just David's Bridal and a few dressmakers). Because I grew up in LA and love boutiques, I craved something similar for trying on dresses—and I wanted my best friends there as naysayers should the dress I like be completely hideous. So,

budgeted expenses in a spreadsheet and used the budget tool on The Knot to make sure that things weren’t out of control, but I didn’t allow myself to stress over extra things here and there. I knew we were spending more than we planned. But regardless, it all added up above and beyond what we expected, and that meant we overspent by
